Lick the bowl clean Bowtie Pasta (Farfalle Pasta) served with Sautéed Mushrooms, Sun Dried Tomatoes in a light Italian Cream Sauce from Disney Cruise Line is a Favorite lunch meal that now I make at home!

Bowtie Pasta Copycat Recipe Disney Cruiseline Tritons Resturant Brunch Menu

I hate to say it, but I am addicted to cruising and Disney has it all figured out! On sea days, Tritons Resturant (one of the main dinning restaurants) is open for Brunch and I loved the menu.

This recipe is simple and light and let me tell you, I went back 4 different days to have it. Yup! You did the math, I must have been on a longer cruise to actually have 4 sea days. You are correct.

Longer cruises are the BEST, spoil yourself and take one. Spoil someone else and take them with you. Disney has definitely figured it out and you feel like your are sailing in luxury.

I unfortunately didn't try the Brunch menu sooner, or trust me I would have had this menu item of Bowtie Pasta more! I loved the light cream sauce with the mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. Truly a perfect blend.

What is Bowtie Pasta?

Bowtie Pasta is a shaped pasta that is pinched in the middle to look just like a bowtie.

You can often find this pasta in a small or regular size and will often be called Farfalle Pasta.

How to Reheat Bowtie Pasta

I prefer heating Bowtie Pasta on the Stove with a little bit of broth and cream.

Over a Medium head add broth with serving of Bowtie Pasta. As the pan heats up and the pasta separates from one another, stir. Add cream as needed.

Can I Freeze Bowtie Pasta?

Freezing dairy does some crazy things. You can of course freeze pasta but I would make the cream sauce fresh so it's perfect.

Fortunately it only takes a few minutes to make.

Can I substitute a different pasta?

Of course you can! Keep in mind that different shaped pastas will cook in different amounts of time.

Spaghetti will cook in 3 minutes w/ a 3 minute Natural Release

What is Natural Pressure Release?

When using an Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker it's important to understand what a Natural Pressure Release is and when to use it.

Fortunately each recipe will tell you when and how to use it.

A Natural Pressure Release is when you allow the pressure to naturally release after the cooking cycle is finished for a specific length of time followed by a quick release of the remaining pressure.

How to Cook Bowtie Pasta in the Instant Pot?

To cook 8oz of Bowtie Pasta add 2 cups of liquid. You can also add a pinch of salt if you wish. If you use a different amount of pasta, use enough liquid to barely cover the pasta.

Cook for 4 mins with a 4 min Natural Pressure Release. Cook for a minute longer if you like softer bowtie pasta.

Why I love this recipe

Let me be specific, I LOVED this recipe for it's simplicity that was packed full of flavor. I loved that it felt light and I didn't have a stomach full of a heavy meal.

I loved the Sun Dried Tomatoes and how the flavor spread throughout the sauce and I love mushrooms so they were just an added bonus.

Put it all together and it was perfect. My tastebuds were thrilled time and time again.

Chef's Recommendation

This simple Bowtie Pasta was listed on the menu under the Chef's Recommendation. I have never been steered wrong when following the Chef.

Unfortunately, I have however made a poor poor choice by not following what the Chef Recommends. I won't do that again. Trust me.

I can easily see why Bowtie Pasta with Sun Dried Tomatoes and Mushrooms is a fan favorite. Many pasta dishes can feel heavy but not this dish.

The Light Italian Cream Sauce is a perfect touch and an excellent lunch or brunch item.

Quick Tip

Slice your Sun Dried Tomatoes in thin strips. If they are too long of strips, then cut each strip in half. Nice strips are perfect in this recipe and give great balance of flavors.

Bowtie Pasta Fun Fact

Bowtie Pasta comes in different sizes. Small ones are called farfalline and larger ones farfallone.

I have found I enjoy making pasta in my Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker. My pasta turns out perfectly every time which I prefer.

There is nothing worse than overcook pasta. ewww.

I set the Instant Pot for 4 minutes for Bowtie Pasta with a 4 Minute Natural Pressure Release.

By letting the pasta sit for 4 minutes it allows the starches to settle inside of the pot. When the pressure valve is opened I don't get those starches sprayed out.

Cruising

I don't mention cruising often, but if you get me started my excitement bubbles over. Not sure why I waited so long to set foot on a ship and be spoiled in this way.

I had huge reservations about cruising, from being seasick to small staterooms to traveling abroad. With that said, I didn't just dip my toe in and try it. I jumped in and went big.

Best decision of my life and now I can't get enough of it.
