Following this, Atwell played the wife of the protagonist in the Royal Shakespeare Company's 2006 production of "Women Beware Women." Subsequently, she appeared in two Royal National Theatre productions, both directed by Nicholas Hytner: "Man of Mode" and "Major Barbara." In 2009, Atwell made her West End debut in a production of Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge." For her performance, she earned a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
