Incredible class, makes sometimes difficult material accessible to all levels. Creates a friendly environment and his passion for philosophy is contagious. Not too heavy on workload, every assignment is meaningful. Lectures are incredible, and group oriented. Highly recommend this teacher.

A decent guy but I didn't enjoy the class. No homework except readings, 2-3 essays + 3 easy tests. The essay instructions weren't very clear and he's a nitpicky paper grader- docked everyone at least 1 point, nobody got full credit all semester. The philosophers covered were just a bunch of dead white guys- disappointing. Wouldn't take it again.

Class consists of weekly discussion posts and a quiz, most of the coursework allows you to consider different perspectives and is very interesting. there are only two or three 2pg papers which are fairly easy if the resources provided are viewed/read. Definitely recommend just work in a timely manner, assignments close at due date!

What I most appreciate about Michael is that you can disagree with him & he will not fail you. That being said; he focuses on some of the most anti-enlightening humans of all time. I absolutely hated the majority of "philosophy" (using that term SUPER loosely) that he pushes but he himself is a good professor.

Took Prof Jordan's class during COVID and he did a great job of having an easy online format for the class. Nothing was hard to find and the course materials were easily accessible and separated by week. The class I took (Philo 16) was super interesting and engaging and I was never bored while doing work for his class. Would recommend!!

I had Prof Jordan for Philo-49 (critical thinking - logical philosophy). My class went into shelter in place halfway through the semester because of COVID-19. Prof Jordan was extremely efficient with transition his class online. The course is heavy with group participation. It is obvious Prof Jordan cares deeply about his work and students.

One of my favorite teachers. Rather than long boring lectures, we actually discuss the topics. and not in an intimidating social interaction way, but as a whole class where you really do want to participate. He wants to help you pass and is very helpful when your stuck. Don't be afraid to ask questions, Hes super friendly and funny

Fun professor for philosophy. He values participation and will take your ideas seriously. I found the discussion based format of the class to be conducive for the growth of ideas relating to the tough philosophical questions raised by the material. Overall I enjoyed the class and learned quite a bit.

He's by far the best professor I've had at cabrillo so far. His lecturing is very clear and he does a great job making super complicated concepts easy to understand and digest. If you show up, pay attention, and do the readings, you won't have any trouble with the tests or papers, and that shouldn't be difficult because of how engaging he is.

This class was always interesting. He made it easy to concentrate and understand the complicated nature of philosophy. He likes class conversation, and involves students constantly. There are a few exams that are all weighted the same and 6 HW assignments that require the textbook. He's a bit complacent but very funny. I would take the class again.

Jordan is one of the best philosophy teachers at Cabrillo and I wish I could take more classes with him! His class consists of mainly group discussions. His lectures are really interesting and he enjoys to be challenged. There are 2 papers, 3 exams, and a couple in-class quizzes but it is honestly a stress-free class with an easy A if you do study

Jordan is the best lecturer I've had so far at Cabrillo. He really knows how to keep his class engaged and interested in whatever the topic of discussion happens to be. I took his class to meet a general ed requirement and I'm glad I did because I ended up really enjoying it. Highly recommend him!

Great teacher. I generally don't like philosophy classes because I hate listening to other students go on about whether or not they're the center of the universe but Jordan himself was interesting enough to make up for that. Very understanding, lets you discuss topic before quizzes with classmates which gave me fuller understanding of material.

I enjoyed his moral conundrums class a lot! We didn't have a text book, midterm, or final. Just show up to class, participate in the discussion for that day, and write about 6 papers throughout the semester that are 1.5-2.5 pages long. His class is one I very much look forwarded to going to and sometimes wished was even longer.

He's an amazing professor who actually cares about what he teaches. For his critical thinking class he gives out 5 or 6 essays but they only have to be a couple pages long at most. It's not a class where you have to show up every day but it's good to attend regularly in order to fully grasp the concept. If you do the work and study, it's an easy A.

One of my favorite professors! he made it so every student wanted to participate in his lecture/ discussions. you would leave his class still talking about what you learned and have new questions and ideas for next class. i would highly recommend taking one of his classes because he is an absolutely amazing professor and cares about his students.

Really enjoyed this class! I took this same class with another instructor and got a NP, mostly because I wasn't the best student at that time. But professor Jordan made me really intrigued to the subjects we were studying, we had a bunch of AWESOME class discussions, and I always looked forward to going to class. Would take again!!

Needed to take ethics for a ge and I'm glad i took it with MJ. He only assigned 3 short papers, had in class quizzes (opinion based 4-5 paragraph "essays") every 2-3 weeks, and almost all of the readings were optional. 1 midterm, 1 final which was basically a midterm. Do the work, you'll get a B or better. Teaches at Sj state so he knows his stuff.
