Add Versatility to Your Spring Meals with Canadian Turkey
Isn’t turkey a heavy meat to eat?
Not at all! Turkey is a light, lean source of protein full of vitamins and minerals. It is a healthy choice for your family to eat. Turkey is also simple to prepare with the variety of cuts available at your local grocer or butcher. It can be used in dishes for family get-togethers, weekend brunches or for a weekday meal.
Planning a large family meal this spring?
Canadian turkey is a great protein to use for a large family gathering or a special family meal. Cooking a whole Canadian turkey is an amazing solution for feeding a big group and for creating a show-stopping meal. It is easy to prepare and it can be flavoured with your favourite combinations of seasonings or spice blends.
But how can a Canadian turkey fit into a weekday meal?
Have you thought about using Canadian turkey parts? They are a fabulous and easy protein to add to your weekly meal plans. Cuts such as turkey thighs, turkey drumsticks and turkey breasts can be found at your grocery store or butcher. Try roasting a variety of these cuts in the oven then carve them to create a gorgeous plating. Preparing Canadian turkey this way also cuts the cooking time in half of that of a whole turkey. Choosing turkey cuts versus a whole turkey also allows for your family to have more pieces of Canadian turkey they enjoy eating!
Is Canadian turkey economical?
Whether enjoying it whole or a selection of its parts, choosing Canadian turkey for your meals can also be good for your wallet! With a whole bird, you will be keeping the costs for your celebration low because one Canadian turkey can feed a large number of people. Choosing to buy parts of the turkey for a meal or a smaller gathering is an economical choice as you are buying enough to feed those you are cooking for.
